2. Data processing on YouTube

2.1 Legal data protection responsibility

We as the operator of the YouTube Channel are the data controller as defined by data protection law with regard to the collection and further processing of personal used data on the YouTube website and in the app. With regard to the technical operation of the YouTube platform, however, YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (“YouTube”) and thus ultimately the Alphabet or Google Group, more specifically Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland is the data controller under data protection law.

Our YouTube Channel may also contain links to other third-party websites. We do not monitor or control what information is collected when you access a link to a third-party website. The operators of third-party websites may handle personal data differently from the way we do. Hence, we take no responsibility for the content or data processing on other websites.

2.2 Processing of personal data on our Facebook Profile

The nature and extent of collection of personal data when you visit the YouTube Channel depend largely on your user behaviour. When you are using our YouTube Channel purely for information purposes, i.e. when you are not logged in or transferring information in any other way, we do not collect any data on you.

Please note that YouTube also collects and processes certain information on your visit to our YouTube Channel even if you do not have a YouTube user account or are not logged into YouTube. For information on how YouTube processes personal data, please see YouTube’s Privacy Policy at https://privacycenter.instagram.com/policy/.

They usually include:

2.4 Your profile, contact requests and contributions

We as the operator of this YouTube Channel can only see your public profile on YouTube. What information is visible there depends on your profile settings. Beyond that, we process your personal data (for example your name and the content of your messages, inquiries or other contributions you send to us) when you contact us through our YouTube Channel.

We process these data for the purpose of processing your contributions and respond to them if necessary.

These types of processing are based - depending on the occasion and content of the interaction - either on our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 (1) S. 1 f GDPR, in particular for the purpose of contacting you about your inquiries or contributions, or on Art. 6 (1) S. 1 b GDPR, if your inquiry is intended to establish a contract with us.

2.5 Statistical evaluation

YouTube also provides us with anonymised statistical evaluations of the use of our YouTube Channel. These include the number of subscribers, views of the YouTube Channel and individual videos, the average play duration of our videos, as well as demographic information about our users (country, region, age, language). However, we do not have access to individual user data.

We process these data for the purpose of optimising the appearance and operation of our YouTube Channel.

These types of processing are based on our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 (1) S. 1 f GDPR, in particular for being able to recognise user preferences (e.g. number of followers, number of views of individual site pages, user statistics by age, geography and language) and adapt and improve the offer to our YouTube Channel as specifically as possible for each target group.

3. Data recipients

We may transfer your personal data for the purposes described here to external service providers, such as IT service providers or advertising agencies. We have chosen these service providers carefully and established contracts for commissioned data processing with them.

In addition, we transfer your personal data to other recipients in individual cases, if and as far as this is legally required or permitted, in order to assert legal claims or to investigate or prevent suspected or actual unlawful activities.

4. Third country transfer

It is conceivable that some of the collected information is processed outside of the European Union by Google LLC and its one hundred percent subsidiaries in the USA. The European Commission currently considers the USA to be a country which generally does not have a sufficient protection level for personal data. To ensure an adequate data protection level, Google LLC conducts such data transfers in accordance with the standard contract clauses of the European Commission and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Further information on third country transfer is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks. However, it is still possible that authorities in the USA, among them criminal prosecution authorities and secret services, can access your personal data or otherwise become aware of them and you may not have any legal recourse.

5. Data deletion and archiving

We store your personal data in our systems, i.e. outside of YouTube, if and for as long as they are required for the purposes of collection, or we are required to store them by law.
