Through the Lürssen Foundation, we are mentoring engineers equipped to lead responsible change and digital transformations in the maritime industry, while driving societal progress to transition to a more sustainable future.
Key Pillars
The Lürssen Foundation was established to drive responsible change and innovative solutions in the maritime industry. Built on three core pillars, the Foundation actively supports emerging talent through knowledge initiatives, such as scholarships, and invests in organisations and startups that are making a positive difference in our industry and the wider community. These are the pillars:
Hands-on learning
Advancing maritime engineering excellence through education and hands-on experience.
Maritime innovation
Funding and mentoring innovative projects tackling sustainability challenges.
Social impact
Investing in local maritime communities and fostering social developments.
The mission
Founded in 2024, the Lürssen Foundation has set out on an ambitious mission: to become a central hub for sustainable innovation in the maritime sector. By supporting the research of talented students and scholars under the mentorship of industry experts, we strive to help shape a better future today.
In addition to the knowledge initiatives, the Lürssen Foundation is actively seeking partnerships with organisations dedicated to urban development in coastal regions, as well as startups which are advancing sustainable transitions and digital transformations within the maritime industry.
The Lürssen Foundation is powered in collaboration with the Maritime Center of Excellence (MCoE), Lürssen’s Croatian research centre for meaningful and long-lasting transformations. The MCoE drives disruptive innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and talent development by uniting technology, business, and society to transform the maritime sector. The Lürssen Foundation is a platform for turning this vision into valuable action.
