The 2026 Scholarship Programme

From application to alumni, students advance their research over six months with the Lürssen Foundation and work on a guided R&D project under expert mentorship across three different countries. While this is an intensive programme, it is designed to complement existing studies. The application period for the 2026 Scholarship Programme opens in mid-January. Here is the calendar of events:

Scholars meet representatives for the first time, and the guided R&D projects get underway.

Guided Research

Regular virtual meetings with appointed mentors, who offer the guidance needed to overcome any initial challenges for the R&D project.

14-19 JUN

Lürssen Shipyard Tours, Germany

Tours of the Lürssen shipyards in Germany, hearing from Lürssen employees about their experiences and discovering the latest career opportunities.

1-31 JUL

Summer School at the University of Connecticut, United States

A one-month summer school in Connecticut, the United States, to refine and develop the guided R&D project.

4-7 OCT

Final Presentation in Bremen, Germany

The final presentations of the completed guided R&D project at Lürssen Bremen.
