A truly ground-breaking yacht, A is without doubt one of the most eye-catching superyachts on the oceans. Her bold design by Philippe Starck eschews convention and previous yachting norms. Trusted with a very generous brief, the result is a yacht that offers surprising loft-like spaces and almost 360-degree views while hiding her true size on the horizon, despite being 119 metres long. Also Starck-designed, the interior is characterised by many mirrors and crystals, giving the space a light and airy feel. Given the rest of the yacht, it is no surprise that the matching tenders are stored in what can aptly be called a cathedral below decks. The design philosophy also follows function and the reverse bow moves the yacht through the water with barely a ripple, even at the top speed of 23 knots. Delivered in 2008, motor yacht A still turns heads wherever she sails and has become a widely recognised icon.
